Nearly a year ago, I interviewed Pastor Jeff Deuble from Sydney, Australia about his journey of discovering the genuine Jesus of the first century. At the close of that interview, he mentioned that he had written a book that makes a case for his understanding of the biblical Christ. Well, I’m happy to say that this book is now available, published by Living Hope International Ministries. In what follows, I ask Deuble about the content, purpose, and tone of the book.

Good Job Brother Deuble.
Look forward to reading it.

Good job
Br. Kent
Amen, Br. Kent !
When approaching the whole issue from a spiritual war perspective, understanding that we still reside in a fallen world governed by the “god of this world” the whole issue becomes clearer. The confusion over the true identity, origin, & nature of Jesus was instigated by design to cause division within the Church, lead to full scale Trinitarianism which was the foundation for Roman Catholicism. This later paved the way for the development of the counterfeit version of a true monotheistic religion through the Nation of Islam. Here we arrive back to a virginally born, fully human Jesus but who was a lesser prophet than Muhammad & who did not die on the cross. Now we have Trinitarians battling Muslims with one hand tied behind their back, especially since Muslims possess smartphones & can easily see where Trinitarianism evolved over time. Since Trinitarianism represents “orthodox Christianity” it’s easy to see why Muslims would reject Christianity in its entirety. I’m writing this as a Biblical Unitarian
Responses to Bob R :
1. The ‘Trinity doctrine’ was constructed, Bob, by probably well meaning Gentile, Christians with a background in various Greek philosophies. However, as they lacked a proper Jewish mind set (especially the Jewish ‘Agent-Representative’ concept as it appertains to Yahweh God), these Gentile Christians misinterpreted the Scriptural data.
2. ‘The Nation of Islam’ is a strange, off-beat sect and has very little to do with mainstream Islam.
As a former Jehovah’s Witness this was a breath of fresh air. I have been praying for truth and understanding and coming up against orthodox doctrine had nearly defeated me. Now I recognize, I am not alone in doubting the trinity but also recognizing that the faith i was born into is also false. Nothing like losing one’s religion. I am choosing to trust the one true God and His son , my Savior to lead me into all truth. thank you for this podcast and the many others i am voraciously listening to.
Well done, Dana – and keep going. They who seek will find. Yahweh God, and Yeshua Messiah bless you.
I applaud the desire to get back to “original” or “primitive” “Christianity”, however this PRESUMES there was an homogenous set of “Christian beliefs” BEFORE they were corrupted in the 2nd – 4th centuries. Unfortunately this is NOT true and there was division FROM THE GET-GO, esp. between Paul and his followers, VS. Yahushua, Peter, James, John, “true” apostles and their followers. This parting of ways is ALREADY PRESENT in the NT itself, 1st century AD. There is no “pure”, “early”, “uncontested”, “homogenous” set of beliefs or understandings. The above two groups are POLAR OPPOSITES. Paul and Yahushua DISAGREE!! One can NOT assume the Bible “canon” we’ve inherited from the Catholic Church is the “flawless”, “inerrant”, “infallible”, “inspired” “Word of God”. Each book and author and translation must be critically evaluated to see if it “vets” as “Scripture”. I have not read Jeff Deuble’s book yet, but if he is throwing both these very DIFFERENT 1st century groups into ONE presumably “HARMONIOUS CAMP”, I would definitely have to object. (The book of James is a perfect example.) But the impulse to try to understand who Jesus was BEFORE the creeds, is certainly necessary and praiseworthy – It’s just there may be more than one answer.
