Top Episodes of 2023

Happy New Year! It’s been a record-breaking year for Restitutio and we’re so thankful for your participation. In 2023 Restitutio had 52 episodes and 80,486 unique downloads, a growth of 7,273 over last year. This year people downloaded our Early Church History at an amazing rate, resulting in all of the top ten episodes this year coming from that class. Here are the top ten episodes:

  1. 481 Early Church History 1: Christianity in the First Century
  2. 483 Early Church History 3: Christianity in the Second Century
  3. 482 Early Church History 2: The Jewish-Roman War and Jewish-Christian Relations
  4. 503 Early Church History 21: The Dual Natures Controversy of the Fifth Century
  5. 484 Early Church History 4: The Apostolic Fathers
  6. 502 Early Church History 20: Early African, Armenian, and Asian Christianity
  7. 488 Early Church History 8: Origen of Alexandria
  8. 485 Early Church History 5: Gnostics and Valentinians
  9. 489 Early Church History 9: Early Church Orders
  10. 504 Early Church History 22: Byzantine Empire from Constantine to Justinian

If you haven’t taken this class yet, what are you waiting for? I promise it’s not just another boring history class. As show above, the church history class did extremely well. That’s kind of surprising, considering the class was originally available on YouTube and I figured most people wouldn’t bother with the audio versions. Boy was I wrong! With the exception of the first five episodes, audio downloads beat the video views by a landslide. I’m not sure what that means, but it’s interesting.

This past year I focused a good deal of effort on reaching out to new authors for interviews. Here’s a list in case you’re interested in getting one of these interesting books.

  1. Interpreting Your World by Justin Bailey
  2. Eating Christ’s Flesh by Steven Nemes
  3. Jesus the Purifier by Craig Bomberg
  4. The Toxic War on Masculinity by Nancy Pearcey
  5. In the Form of a God by Andrew Perriman
  6. Dynamic Monarchianism by Thomas Gaston

In addition to these author interviews, we did a little two-parter on UFOs or UAPs or NHI or whatever you want to call them. These two fascinating interviews with expert Kegan Chandler were a little outside of our usual content, but they asked important questions about non-human intelligence from a biblical perspective.

Other interesting episodes included a two-part rebuttal Brandon Duke and I did of Samuel Nesan and Kyel Essary’s cases that Jesus is Yahweh. Jon Nessle made his debut appearance on Restitutio in a two-parter on healing from bullying. I interviewed Tom Huszti on the launch of his YouTube channel, the Unitarian Anabaptist, and later in the year he interviewed me.

Two scholarly interviews involving theology articles included Nathan Massie on Ignatius of Antioch and Jeremiah Coogan on adoptionism.

We had several other important episodes with Sam Tideman, Josh and Daisy Jones, Rick Naviello, Troy Sallinger, Will Barlow, and Dale Tuggy. Phew! What a year of great guests!

Also, this year we launched our podcast on the Restitutio YouTube channel. These are just still images with the audio content. These episodes might be easier to share with people who aren’t familiar with podcasts.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in, shared episodes with others, wrote reviews, and contributed financially! We’re looking forward to a strong 2023 together in our effort to restore authentic Christianity and live it out today.

P.S. here’s the updated top 10 of all time list:
