Interview 49 They Never Told Me This in Church (Greg Deuble)

Greg Deuble grew up in the Church of Christ in Australia, went to N.S.W. Bible College in Sydney, and spent fifteen years serving as a pastor and evangelist.  One day he attended a meeting during which Anthony Buzzard challenged him on his belief in the deity of Christ.  Rattled, Deuble began on a quest to reassess all of his doctrinal convictions in light of scripture.  As a lifelong member of the restorationist tradition, Deuble always wanted to practice the authentic Christianity of the apostles and couldn’t just slough off such important questions.  The result was his book, They Never Told Me This in Church, an exposé of how bad philosophy corrupted the teaching of scripture.

  • Hello Sean, I loved the interview with Greg Deuble. Greg’s experiences resonated so much with me. Listening to his life experiences I truly felt like a stunned mullet! His attitude is inspirational and very encouraging for those who have also accepted the price of true discipleship. Also it is encouraging to see God’s hand in “making things grow”, here in Australia. Thanks for airing this interview as it has made me aware of his ministry, book, and how I can get in contact with him. I am excited how this could lead to some fellowship with others who share the same principles of worshiping God and being followers of the Christ.

Keep up the good work Sean

  • “Less organization, more inspiration.” That’s got to be the quote of the year for me, and sums up my heart’s desires at the moment too! Great interview, and great to hear a fellow Aussie (and friend!) on Restitutio. Thanks Sean and Greg!

  • Greg’s articles on his website are well researched and his writing style is as charasmatic as his laugh! Greg mentioned having more videos etc, however the written articles remain cherished too. I attend a skype group which links ladies from England, Wales, South Africa and Australia and we have so enjoyed reading Greg’s articles and discussing them together.
Thanks Sean for your work and commitment to helping share the Good News!
