309 Introducing the Unitarian Christian Alliance (Dale Tuggy, Kegan Chandler, Mark Cain, Sean Finnegan)

Today, we are publicly announcing the launch of a new para-church organization called the UCA or the Unitarian Christian Alliance.  This is a new ministry that I’ve been working on with Dale Tuggy, Kegan Chandler, and Mark Cain for months and I believe it will help all of us, but especially those who don’t live near a church that allows for biblical unitarian members.  Currently the UCA is a website and a conference, though we are hoping it will grow to be much more.  The site is unitarianchristianalliance.org and it’s where you can register to be found by others looking for fellowship with one-God believers.  The conference is slated for the Fall of 2020 in the Nashville, TN area.  I’ll get you more details about that once we settle on a venue and a date.

I hope that if you are a unitarian Christian–someone who believes the Father of Jesus is the only true God–you’ll sign up.  It’s free and raising your hand to be counted will help others find you so that our scattered movement can coalesce into more home fellowships as well as brick-and-mortar churches.

  • What a great idea! I love the motivation for this alliance, and the emphasis on keeping it broad. I have no doubt that your efforts in this area will be an effective way of spreading hope and encouragement to those who believe in Jesus and his God.

  • And so it begins!
    The clergy rises again
Initially I thought this had merit until I saw the subscription “Partner” option offer of a free annual gift and ‘privilege’ of attending a luncheon with the directors.
How sad that your ego has become manifest in this venture.

  • Of course, we should all be committed to working alongside any church or any individual that wants to learn first and foremost about “the Gospel of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ” (Acts 8.12).

That’s why the starting point “to further the cause of unitarian theology” should by default include this mission statement of our lord Jesus, i.e., “the Gospel about the Kingdom of God” (Luke 4:43).

So it’s sad to hear that the UCA has been purposely designed to be silent on any other issue. It seems that even at the expense of our precious “human Jesus.” As all Biblical unitarians have known, acceptance of a literal preexistence does away with any real humanity.

  • Interesting movement, and I see someone perceives this as a negative, “the clergy rises again”, I can understand the suspicion here, we need to be aware of the tendency of religious movements to become the vehicles of priest-craft. But I have been watching his divine holiness Finnegan [I’m just being funny here, no insult meant,] lectures on the Trinity and church history, some great material and thoughts.
I love the use of the title, Restitutio, makes me think of Michael Servetus, one of my heroes of faith, and the radical reformation.
My journey of faith started with my family’s more liberal beliefs in Christianity, I became a Calvinist following my G-Grandpa’s Scot’s religious heritage, then I went on to adopt Seventh Day Adventism, but for daring to question some doctrines and the trend towards authoritarianism, I was cast out of the theology institute, and banned from the pulpits. Then I found out that my New England roots were in the old Unitarian church and I ended up there, only to find mostly atheism, pagans, the generally confused. But in the early Unitarians I found a movement that was both biblical and relevant, and influential in forming our republic and our religious conscious, so I launched within the UU movement what I call the Unitarian Legacy Project, pushing the actual history and ideas of the early Unitarians. I found a lot of inspiration in those folks, and I’m getting a lot of interest from people in UUism in the project, and others who are rabid leftists and PC sorts, making vicious attacks on me. Seems that I have aroused the nest of hornets John Adams talked about!

  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! This is certainly a blessing from Yahweh himself. This almost brought tears to my open and humble eyes. I have been praying for an opportunity to meet and find other Unitarians like me and near me. My prayers have been answered. I’m so excited for this and have already joined. My our merciful God bless this work. Thank you all for your parts.

    • Yes, Sarah. The event was professionally recorded. I’m not sure when the presentations will be made available. I know that we’re planning on a staggered release rather than dumping them all at once on the YouTube channel.
