Over our last two episodes we’ve been hearing from Pastor Bob Carden on the topic of healing and walking by the spirit. Today I’d like to play out a sermon by Carden’s successor, Garrett Bova who is the lead pastor now at Align Ministries. Now I realize his message will challenge some of you to consider speaking prophetically in a way that may be foreign to you. All I ask is that you hear him out. He talks about the power of words of encouragement and speaking blessings over people.

Awesome, enthusiastic, relatable, down to earth teaching demonstrating the power of words of encouragement and speaking blessings over people. Just as DNA is the body’s instruction manual, Words are the building blocks of the soul. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit”
Life as we know it on this current earth began with God speaking restorative words over the cosmos.
I can’t imagine anyone being offended by Garrett’s words, so I am a bit perplexed by Sean’s cautionary warning related to listening to this sharing.
When we REALLY sit and ponder the concept of words and how they form thoughts and beliefs it is profound how just a simple word can both be such a positive and negative force in our lives, and the lives of those around us.
As far as prophetic words are concerned I believe we are constantly being bombarded by thoughts during any given day – where do they all come from? if we are seeking God with a pure heart why should we expect him to be speaking to us and through us ? perhaps to some such a concept may appear high-minded and offensive but if God is who He says He is why wouldn’t He speak to us?
