More about Sean Finnegan:

Sean is passionate about learning biblical languages. He studied koine Greek at his own church (2 semesters), at Boston University (2 semesters), and at Harvard University (3 semesters).  He studied biblical Hebrew under a teacher from the local Jewish synagogue before doing levels A-F at the Biblical Language Center. He has read the New Testament through in Greek and is working his way through the Old Testament in Hebrew.

Sean loves researching, teaching, and writing. Check out his free classes here. His omnivorous appetite has led him to many fields, including Bible, theology, apologetics, textual criticism, translation, ethics, and church history. However, his greatest passion is the Great Commission–reaching new people with the gospel message and helping Christ-followers deepen their discipleship (Matthew 28:19-20) both at home and on the mission field.

He lives in New York with his beautiful and talented wife, Ruth. Together they have four sons: Noah, Daniel, Wesley, and Ezra.  He loves traveling, sailing, playing ultimate frisbee, disc golf, attending oratorios, apple picking, and skiing.

He has served as a missionary in Malawi (2004), Mozambique (2004), the Philippines (2005, 2024), Kenya (2019), and both Congo countries (2022). Additionally, he has traveled to many archeological sites in Turkey, Greece, and Israel.

Sean believes the future of the restorationist movement depends on starting new churches. If you are interested in learning more about planting a new church or supporting those who are doing this work, you can get more information here.
