  • Sean, I appreciated your new creation analysis…spot on. If I could add a little to boost your thesis, in my view. It seems to me that we all sometimes think that the new reality is something we can have and experience by upgrading the current system with higher “Christ-like” standards of morality. If we’ll just do this or that better, we will attain the new reality you spoke of. What we’re missing is that “you can’t get there from here”. Our entire world governing system (self and collective) is based on a lie…that we can attain what God and we are looking for by knowing good and evil. Subsequently, definitions and policing of laws is what we have to work with. But law systems fail because they only restrain evil…they don’t heal it. We must replace this law/forensic approach with an admiration of our Father. When we talk about being “in Christ”, all ways we describe what this means fall under a larger umbrella of admiring everything about our Father, which is the best mechanism God has made available for us to become “like” Him…to be chips off the ol’ Block in modern vernacular. This operating approach is a completely new reality. We ditch the old flawed approach, for the new. We ditch the Law of Moses approach for the faith of Jesus. It’s not so much about keeping laws, but keeping faith. To believe “in Jesus” is to be guided by this approach/system/method. Above everything else we can say about how Jesus lived, we MUST recognize that he believed in his Father…admired and esteemed His name (everything about Him and His words, worldview, etc.). Malachi 3 makes it clear that this is what our God is looking for as a starting place…the place the first Adam did not start. John the Baptist was the greatest change agent Israel had ever seen, and the spirit of Elijah is the greatest change agent the world will ever see. Changing humanity from the old, soley law-based system to the new faith-based system in Christ. What’s the real definition of sin? Law breaking? No…faith-breaking. Romans 1 and chapters following make that case well.

  • Sean. Just listening to this podcast 632. I am with you on 99% of your presentation, yet you have mixed the message a bit.

    At about 24 minutes you point out we are transferred into the kingdom of His beloved son. Implication in your immediate context sounds like you are saying “now” if you are born again.
    Now I agree with you on this transferred point, but the kingdom of His (Gods) beloved son, this can only mean Jesus kingdom.
    Now I know you are one who looks to future body believer resurrection at christs return, and that is “into the kingdom.” And as he hasnt yet returned (though it cant be far away now) it still is not that wonderful restoration kingdom you had just been talking about in the previous few minutes of this podcast.

    So we cant at the moment, as new birth believers, be “transferred into that kingdom,” except by promise. Cause it aint here yet. The point being that this transferal must be one of those prophetic perfect things. We WILL YET BE transferred into his kingdom…. i.e. when there is that kingdom to be transferred into!
    i.e. At general resurrection (from your view) or after he returns with us in his gang when the patriachs and Jewish believers are resurrected (my view re pre trib rapture) and so from either standpoint this transfer is still yet future, because Heaven is NOT the kingdom of Jesus as the trinitarian holds to. Its the kingdom or realm of heaven, Gods kingdom, and we both know Jesus is not God.

    It might seem pedantic of me, but this is where sermons quickly adding substance cause doctrinal drift.
