Here is a useful evaluation of Dr. Heiser’s concepts. In my opinion, the author’s other posts are well-written as well. https://letthetruthcomeoutblog.wordpress.com/2019/03/18/an-analysis-of-how-dr-michael-heiser-interprets-scripture-in-relation-to-his-divine-council-concept/comment-page-1/#comment-239
The Lord’s Prayer: …thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” Heiser says a divine council in heaven rebels against God’s will, hence partially to blame for evil on earth. But did not Jesus’ prayer say God’s will is done in heaven? So I go with Jesus’ understanding instead of Heiser’s. Thanks to Rob Bjerk for pointing out the blog. A good read.
There’s a lot of stuff going on in heaven that we don’t know about. We do know, however, that there were bad angels (Gen 6:4), and there is yet to be a war in heaven (Rev 12).
“…… your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” We are praying for God’s will to be done, and we are praying for God’s will to be done in heaven and on earth.
